About the Opportunity

The Physiotherapy Resident plays a vital role in assessing, diagnosing, and treating patients in a tertiary care setting. This position requires a strong understanding of physiotherapy principles and practices, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing holistic treatment programs using a variety of techniques, including exercises, education, and manual therapy. They will also be expected to work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to determine team goals and objectives, and to participate in the evaluation of team effectiveness.

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated individual who is passionate about providing high-quality patient care. The ideal candidate will have a strong academic background in physiotherapy, as well as relevant experience in a clinical setting.

About You

We are looking for a candidate who possesses the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or entry-level master's program in Physiotherapy from an accredited university
  • Membership with the Nova Scotia College of Physiotherapists (Provincial licensing body)
  • Computer skills (statistics input, word processing, Outlook)
  • Annual Cardio-pulmonary Resuscitation certification (BCLS)
  • WHMIS training and certification
  • Additional courses/education/training in specialized areas or practice, e.g. cardio-respiratory techniques, acupuncture, stroke rehabilitation, manual therapy, balance training, etc.
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
Hours
  • Temporary Full-time / 75 Hours Bi-weekly
  • Approximately 12 months
  • Shifts include days and some weekends
  • Travel to various sites may be required
Compensation and Benefits

$33.97 Hourly

Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
