About You

">

We are seeking an Events and Sales Executive who will drive sales of meeting space and events, ensuring professional, friendly, and engaging service. The successful candidate will achieve monthly – yearly goals and conduct site inspections, confirm event information with clients, and establish excellent rapport with clients to encourage repeat business.

The ideal candidate should be computer literate in Microsoft Windows applications, have excellent time management and organizational skills, and be available for evening and weekend work when required.

The Events and Sales Executive will:

">
  • Consistently offer professional, friendly, and engaging service;
  • Actively engage in sales of meeting space and book various types of events;
  • Achieve monthly – yearly goals as set out by the Director of Catering;
  • Conduct site inspections, achieve entertainment goals, activity goals, and revenue goals;
  • Confirm all event-related information with clients during finalizations;
  • Establish and maintain excellent rapport with clients, prior to, during, and post-event, encouraging repeat business;
  • Book and organize all bookings from date of booking to departure, including meeting requirements, guest room requirements, guest room pickup, food & beverage, and audio visual;
  • Finalize events which are assigned to you as needed by the Director of Catering;
  • Handle all deposits and prepayments for events and ensure they are fully prepaid;
  • Create floor plans for each event to ensure banquets and clients are in agreement prior to set up;
  • Initiate billing procedures, ensuring any deposits and/or credit applications are received with adequate information and within an acceptable time frame and following full hotel credit procedures;
  • Conduct pre-conference meetings with clients and pertinent departments to confirm all relevant details are communicated when required and create event resumes when required;
  • Attend daily BEO meeting to review event contracts and ensure last-minute changes are communicated with appropriate departments;
  • Follow departmental policies and procedures;
  • Follow all safety policies;
  • Be able to prioritize tasks and assess when additional hours are required;
  • Work effectively in a team environment;
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • English is required, with bilingualism (French) being an asset.
