What is the Opportunity?

Royal Bank of Canada is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Associate Branch Director to join our team. As a key member of our wealth management team, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the branch, including sales management, human resource management, operations control, and supervision of compliance.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of leadership and management experience, with a strong background in investment management and wealth planning. You will be responsible for providing leadership and support to investment advisors and support staff, as well as assessing performance and providing developmental opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and supervise all compliance issues and responsibilities on a daily basis.
  • Provide effective and consistent communication via regular sales meetings, sales support meetings, and team meetings.
  • Engage in high-performance coaching with each investment advisor.
  • Provide ongoing coaching and mentoring to branch administrators to ensure their duties are understood and accomplished with a high degree of success.
  • Develop and implement strategies to motivate employees and drive results.
  • Consistently seek opportunities to improve the working environment within the branch.
  • Develop and provide actionable feedback to investment advisors and support staff.
  • Solve complex problems effectively and make tough decisions.

Requirements:

  • CSC and CPH designations, with the ability to complete the BM license within 3 months.
  • Minimum of 2 years of retail brokerage experience, with a strong background in investment advisor experience or similar experience.
  • Post-secondary education (college or university).
  • Proven experience in leading a team, coaching, and developing others.
  • Demonstrated experience in dealing with ambiguity and managing multiple operations and servicing activities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to engage a diverse team, including branch staff, middle office, and internal and external partners.
  • Experience in managing multiple priorities and dealing with challenging situations to drive success.
