Job Title: PDP3227 Health and Physical Education Intermediate-Senior, Specialist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Health and Physical Education Specialist to join our team at the University of Ottawa. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and implementing physical education and health programs in the intermediate and senior divisions, with a focus on leadership skills and curriculum implementation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement physical education and health programs that meet the needs of learners in the intermediate and senior divisions
  • Provide leadership and guidance to teachers and administrators on curriculum implementation and best practices in physical education and health
  • Facilitate ongoing professional development for teachers and administrators on physical education and health teaching and learning
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community partners and stakeholders to support physical education and health initiatives
  • Stay up-to-date with current research and best practices in physical education and health, and apply this knowledge to inform program development and implementation

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in education or a related field
  • Specialist in Physical Education and Health at the Intermediate/Senior Division
  • Experience in curriculum implementation and leadership in physical education and health
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, and community partners

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Second specialist in Physical Education and Health
  • Experience in facilitating professional learning and development
  • Membership or leadership position in education professional organizations
