Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly qualified Health and Physical Education Specialist to join our team at the University of Ottawa. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and implementing physical education and health programs in the intermediate and senior divisions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement physical education and health programs that meet the needs of students in the intermediate and senior divisions.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to teachers and administrators on the implementation of the Ontario Curriculum in physical education and health.
  • Facilitate ongoing professional development for teachers and administrators on best practices in physical education and health.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community partners and stakeholders to enhance the physical education and health programs.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of physical education and health programs and make recommendations for improvement.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in education or a related field.
  • Specialist in Physical Education and Health at the Intermediate/Senior Division.
  • Experience in facilitating professional development and leading teams.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, and community partners.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Second specialist in a related field.
  • Experience in developing and implementing physical education and health programs.
  • Membership or leadership position in an education professional organization.
