Position Overview
The University of Ottawa is seeking a qualified individual for the role of Health and Physical Education Specialist at the Intermediate/Senior level. This position requires a Master's degree in education and a specialization in Physical Education and Health.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead ongoing professional development initiatives aimed at implementing the Ontario Curriculum effectively.
- Engage in current leadership roles that support teachers and administrators in enhancing Health and Physical Education teaching methodologies.
- Participate actively in professional networks related to Physical Education.
- Facilitate Intermediate/Senior Physical Education and Health Additional Qualification courses.
- Contribute to the development and execution of Physical Education and Health programs within Ontario classrooms over the past five years.
Qualifications
- Possession of a second specialist designation is considered an asset.
- Demonstrated experience in applying the Ethical Standards and the Standards of Practice of the Teaching Profession in Ontario.
- Proven ability to model exemplary practices tailored to meet the diverse needs of learners.
- Experience in developing strategies for integrating technology into educational practices.
- Strong consultation skills to support learning and development.
Additional Information
Applicants with an acceptable level of education and/or experience equivalent to the stated requirements will also be considered.
