Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Long Haul Truck Driver to join our team at Joven Trucking Ltd. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for safely transporting goods and materials across the country.

Key Responsibilities
  • Route Planning and Execution

Plan and adjust routes based on changing conditions, utilizing computer equipment, GPS systems, and other navigation devices to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions.

Customer Service

Provide exceptional customer service, ensuring professionalism and a positive experience for all clients.

Permits and Documentation

Obtain necessary permits and documents required for international routes, ensuring compliance with regulations.

Vehicle Operation and Maintenance

Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials, overseeing the condition of the vehicle and inspecting tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment.

Pre-Trip and Post-Trip Inspections

Perform pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections, ensuring all aspects of the vehicle are in good working condition.

Preventive Maintenance

Perform routine maintenance tasks to prevent mechanical issues and ensure the vehicle is in optimal condition.

Record Keeping

Accurately record cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption.

Requirements
  • Education

Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.

Experience

Experience is an asset, but not required.

Transportation/Travel Experience

Long-haul experience is required.

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handle heavy loads, and sit for extended periods.

Personal Suitability

Excellent oral communication skills, flexibility, judgment, organization, reliability, and a strong work ethic.

Working Conditions

50 hours per week, with a permanent work term and English as the primary work language.
