Job Summary

Avka Trucking INC. is seeking a skilled Long Haul Truck Driver to join our team. As a Long Haul Truck Driver, you will be responsible for transporting goods and materials across the country, ensuring timely delivery and maintaining a safe and efficient operation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Transportation: Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials, adhering to all relevant regulations and safety protocols.
  • Logistics: Arrange travel, related itineraries, and make reservations to ensure smooth transportation and delivery.
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Oversee the condition of the vehicle, inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.
  • Communication: Receive and relay information to central dispatch, maintaining clear and effective communication throughout the journey.
  • Record Keeping: Record cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption to ensure accurate tracking and reporting.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: Will train, with a focus on developing skills in transportation, logistics, and vehicle maintenance.
  • Work Conditions: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a large workload and heavy loads, while maintaining attention to detail and a high level of organization.
  • Physical Capabilities: Ability to sit for extended periods and handle heavy loads.
  • Personal Suitability: Strong judgment, reliability, and organizational skills, with a focus on maintaining a safe and efficient operation.
