Job Description

The Childcare Support Aide plays a vital role in ensuring the provision of one-on-one care to assigned children in our centre. This position requires a high level of flexibility, patience, and sensitivity, as well as the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individualized support to children with additional needs, including physical and personal care.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with parents and communicate effectively with them.
  • Establish and implement daily activity schedules that cater to the needs and interests of children.
  • Supervise children in both structured and unstructured settings, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
  • Support children to participate in programming and activities, promoting their inclusion and engagement.
Requirements
  • Early Childhood Educator Certificate (Level 1) or ability to obtain within 2 months of hire.
  • Flexible schedule and availability to work all hours that the program is open.
  • Up-to-date Police Clearance and valid CPR and First Aid Certificate.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
  • Fast-paced environment with the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Able to walk, bend, stand, squat, or crouch to child's level.
  • Able to respond quickly in an emergency.
