Job Title: Childcare Assistant

We are seeking a qualified Childcare Assistant to join our team at Edgemont Childcare Centre.

Job Summary

The Childcare Assistant will assist early childhood educators in carrying out programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children. This includes engaging children in activities, preparing snacks, and arranging rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods.

Responsibilities
  • Assist early childhood educators in planning and implementing programs for children
  • Engage children in activities such as storytelling, singing, and crafts
  • Prepare healthy snacks and arrange rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods
  • Submit written observations on children to early childhood educators or supervisors
  • Attend staff meetings to discuss progress and problems of children
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities

The Childcare Assistant will work in a fast-paced environment with a combination of sitting, standing, and walking. The work term is permanent, and the work language is English. The hours of work are 35 hours per week.
