About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Director, Commercial Financial Services. As a key member of our Commercial Financial Services team, you will play a critical role in driving business growth and delivering exceptional client experiences.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Client Relationship Management: Collaborate with client relationship managers to structure, deliver, and manage credit relationships for a portfolio of large commercial clients.
  2. Credit Structuring and Delivery: Develop and present credit pitches that clearly articulate the advantages and benefits of proposed credit solutions to existing and potential clients.
  3. Portfolio Management: Manage all aspects of the credit approval process, including ComCom and GRM, and develop strong working relationships with National Office personnel and risk managers.
  4. Client Engagement: Actively develop, strengthen, and deepen client relationships and engage with key RBC partners to deliver customized and creative credit solutions.
  5. Risk Management: Exercise due diligence in recommending credit applications and work collaboratively with Risk Management to support risk processes and guidelines.
  6. Portfolio Quality Oversight: Maintain portfolio quality oversight through proactive portfolio management, including annual credit renewals, covenant monitoring, and control.
Requirements
  1. Proven Track Record: Proven track record in financial and credit analysis in support of exceptional client relationship management.
  2. Commercial Lending Experience: Minimum five years' experience in commercial lending at a major financial institution, ideally with experience supporting and/or specialized in Agribusiness/Agriculture and commercial businesses.
  3. Education and Skills: Undergraduate degree in Business, Economics, Accounting, or Finance with strong quantitative, financial modeling, and analytical skills, as well as an ability to analyze company financial statements.
  4. Technical Skills: Strong skills with Microsoft Office, as well as experience with emerging resources, communications, and technology.
  5. Communication and Organizational Skills: Professional verbal and written communication skills with a high level of attention to detail in both written work and financial analysis.
  6. Organizational and Time Management Skills: Strong organizational skills, ability to perform well under pressure, prioritize multiple tasks and projects, while meeting time-sensitive deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
  1. MBA, CPA, or CFA: MBA, CPA, or CFA designation.
  2. Corporate Lending Experience: Work experience in corporate lending/corporate finance.
  3. Trained in Credit and Accounting: Trained in credit and accounting with an ability to manage complex concepts.
