About the Role

BBA inc. is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mechanical Engineering Lead to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will play a crucial role in the development and implementation of mechanical engineering projects for mine process plants.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage mechanical scopes of work, budgets, and proposals for engineering projects.
  • Perform high-level engineering on major mechanical packages, including crushing and grinding circuits, flotation circuits, leaching circuits, and dewatering.
  • Lead mechanical scope on conceptual design studies, pre-feasibility studies, feasibility studies, and detailed engineering.
  • Participate in site visits, inspections, condition assessments, commissioning, and testing.
  • Provide mentorship and coaching of junior/intermediate engineers, actively sharing knowledge and supporting the enhancement of skills within the team.
Requirements
  • Proven track record with strong technical skills as a Mechanical Engineer on mineral process plant projects.
  • Experience in base and precious metals is an asset.
  • Ability to interpret PFD's and process design criteria from process engineering, oversee plant layouts, mechanical equipment selection, technical bid evaluation and validation, and pump sizing.
  • University degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 12+ years of relevant engineering experience in the mining sector with a preference for 5+ years in consulting.
  • Must be a registered P.Eng in Canada.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Available for site work and short-term assignments.
