Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to enhance our capabilities in the Hydroelectric sector. This role is pivotal in all stages of engineering projects, from initial studies to field implementation, with a strong emphasis on detailed engineering. As a senior member of our mechanical engineering team, you will ensure the delivery of high-quality technical solutions, identify and develop new business opportunities, and support the professional growth of team members.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct advanced engineering on components such as penstocks, turbines, mechanical governors, and more.
  • Lead client interactions and contribute to business development efforts.
  • Serve as a vital team member for various hydroelectric projects, both brownfield and greenfield.
  • Engage in site inspections, condition assessments, commissioning, and testing activities.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior and intermediate engineers, fostering knowledge sharing and skill enhancement.
  • Encourage a positive workplace culture while maintaining high standards of professional output.
  • Take on roles such as Project Manager or Project Leader for engineering initiatives within the hydropower industry.

Qualifications:
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Over 25 years of relevant experience in the hydropower industry, with a preference for at least 15 years in a consulting capacity.
  • Familiarity with design codes and standards such as ASME, CSA, API, AWWA, and others.
  • Willingness to undertake site work and short-term assignments.
  • Registered or eligible for P.Eng designation in Canada.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license.
