About the Role

The Human Resources team at Unilever is seeking a highly skilled and experienced HR Generalist/Labor Union Specialist to join our team in Simcoe. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering a wide range of programs and priorities designed to enable strong business performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the new hire onboarding process, ensuring a smooth transition for employees and teams.
  • Lead and provide direction to managers on Performance Management Process (PMP) to drive employee growth and development.
  • Manage medical accommodations in alignment with federal and provincial laws, ensuring a fair and inclusive work environment.
  • Direct and manage end-to-end ownership of HR solutions/rollouts for the site, driving business results and employee engagement.
  • Manage project teams from inception to completion, hitting deadlines and documenting progress.
  • Effectively manage conflict and create an inclusive work environment, fostering a positive employee relations atmosphere.
  • Conduct investigations, including write-ups, legal conversations, and counseling, to resolve issues and promote a fair work environment.
  • Foster a collaborative Union/Management relationship, administering the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) and promoting a positive employee relations atmosphere.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Human Resources, or a related field.
  • 2-3 years of experience in HR, preferably in a unionized manufacturing environment.
  • Experience preparing for and engaging in Canada union negotiations.
  • Leading investigations and performance management.
  • Ability to analyze data to make key decisions to drive performance.
  • Experience navigating and using an HRIS system, such as Workday or similar.
