Job Title: Data Analyst Position for Population Health Research

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Analyst to join our team at the University of Ottawa. The successful candidate will play a key role in leading data-driven research projects, analyzing large health datasets, and contributing to impactful health research.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Data Analysis and Interpretation: Conduct sophisticated and/or advanced data analyses using software such as R, Python, STATA, or SAS, and interpret results.
  2. Project Preparation: Prepare grant applications, manage research budgets, and ensure eligibility of project expenditures in accordance with funding agency requirements.
  3. Project Management: Supervise students, track/monitor/provide justification for all financial aspects of the project, and ensure accurate and timely reporting.
  4. Writing and Publishing: Write up and submit research results for publication or presentation.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of an undergraduate degree in a related discipline (in biostatistics, epidemiology, health data science, or a related field); a graduate degree is preferred.
  • Two to five years' experience in research positions or one to two years of research experience with a graduate degree in a relevant discipline.
  • Strong proficiency in advanced statistical analyses and machine learning methods, including working with large health datasets.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience in budgeting and resource management for research projects is highly desirable.

Working Conditions:

This is a full-time 1-year contract, with possibility of renewal pending performance. We offer a competitive salary range of $80,000 - $100,000 per year, based on qualifications and experience.
