Job Title: Long Haul Truck Driver

Garry's Moving & Construction Ltd. is seeking a reliable and experienced Long Haul Truck Driver to join our team.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a skilled truck driver to transport goods and materials across various locations. The ideal candidate will have a valid Class 1 or A driver's license, air brake endorsement, and experience with tractor-trailers, refrigerated trucks, and straight trucks.

Responsibilities:
  • Arrange travel itineraries and make reservations
  • Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy
  • Load and unload goods
  • Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials
  • Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment
  • Pay and receive payments for goods
  • Receive and relay information to central dispatch
  • Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo
Requirements:
  • Valid Class 1 or A driver's license
  • Air brake endorsement
  • Experience with tractor-trailers, refrigerated trucks, and straight trucks
  • Basic security clearance
  • Criminal record check
  • Driving record check (abstract)
  • Drug test
  • Medical exam
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience an asset
