About the Role

Garry's Moving & Construction Ltd. is seeking a skilled Long Haul Truck Driver to join our team. As a key member of our transportation department, you will be responsible for safely transporting goods and materials across various locations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Transportation and Logistics
    • Arrange travel itineraries and make reservations for transportation
    • Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy, ensuring safe and efficient transportation of goods
    • Load and unload goods, adhering to safety protocols and regulations
    • Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials
  • Vehicle Maintenance and Safety
    • Oversee the condition of the vehicle, inspecting tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment
    • Ensure the safety and security of cargo, including tarping and securing loads
  • Documentation and Communication
    • Prepare and maintain accurate documentation, including bills of lading, driver logbooks, and inspection reports
    • Communicate effectively with central dispatch and other stakeholders, using citizens band (CB) radio and GPS navigation equipment
  • Regulatory Compliance
    • Hold a valid Air Brake (Z) Endorsement and Driver's License (Class 1 or A)
    • Undergo regular medical exams, drug tests, and driving record checks
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
    • Experience in long-haul trucking an asset
  • Certifications and Licenses
    • Air Brake (Z) Endorsement
    • Driver's License (Class 1 or A)
  • Language and Communication
    • Fluency in English
Work Environment

Garry's Moving & Construction Ltd. offers a dynamic and fast-paced work environment. As a Long Haul Truck Driver, you will be required to work 40 hours per week, with opportunities for overtime.
