About the Role

Garry's Moving & Construction Ltd. is seeking a skilled Long Haul Truck Driver to join our team. As a key member of our transportation department, you will be responsible for safely transporting goods and materials across various locations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Transportation: Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Logistics: Arrange travel, related itineraries, and make reservations to optimize routes and reduce transit times.
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Oversee the condition of the vehicle, inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.
  • Documentation: Prepare and maintain accurate records, including driver logbooks, inspection reports, and maintenance reports.
  • Communication: Receive and relay information to central dispatch, using communication systems such as Citizens Band (CB) radio and GPS navigation equipment.
Requirements
  • Certifications: Air Brake (Z) Endorsement and Driver's License (Class 1 or A)
  • Experience: Previous experience as a long-haul truck driver is an asset, with a focus on safe driving practices and adherence to regulations.
  • Language: Fluency in English is required, with the ability to communicate effectively with dispatch and other stakeholders.
Working Conditions

This is a permanent, full-time position, requiring a 40-hour workweek. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently, with minimal supervision, and be comfortable with varying weather conditions and long periods of driving.
