Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Computer Network Technician to join our team at FIBERCOMM COMMUNICATIONS LTD.

About the Role

This is a permanent position with 40 hours of work per week. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with a variety of technologies and systems, including computer hardware, networking software, and operating system software.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and install computer hardware, networking software, and operating system software to ensure optimal performance and security.
  • Provide problem-solving services to network users, identifying and resolving technical issues in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Maintain control records and perform routine network start-up and close-down procedures.
  • Perform data backups and disaster recovery operations to ensure business continuity.
  • Set up local area networks and connections to the Internet, ensuring secure and reliable communication.
  • Implement network traffic and security monitoring software, and optimize server performance for maximum efficiency.
  • Perform Web-server backup and recovery operations to prevent data loss.
Experience and Education
  • The ideal candidate will have 2 years of experience in a similar role, with a strong understanding of computer hardware, networking software, and operating system software.
  • College/CEGEP diploma or equivalent education required.
