We are a dynamic company seeking an experienced Financial Accountant Assistant to join our team in Canada. This is a permanent position, working 35 to 40 hours per week.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing various financial tasks including calculating and preparing cheques for payroll, maintaining financial records and establishing, maintaining and balancing various accounts using manual and computerized bookkeeping systems. They will also maintain general ledgers and financial statements, post journal entries and prepare other statistical, financial and accounting reports.

Key Responsibilities
  • Calculate and prepare cheques for payroll, ensuring timely and accurate payment to employees.
  • Maintain financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Establish, maintain and balance various accounts using manual and computerized bookkeeping systems.
  • Maintain general ledgers and financial statements, providing regular updates to management.
  • Post journal entries, reconciliations, and other financial transactions.
  • Prepare other statistical, financial and accounting reports as required.
  • Reconcile accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial data.
Requirements
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in a related field, preferably in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of financial principles, practices, and procedures.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work accurately and efficiently under tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Bilingualism in English (spoken and written) is an asset.
