Ka:'yu:'k't'h'/Che:k'tles7et'h' First Nations Government is a dynamic organization seeking a seasoned executive-level CPA accountant to lead and develop our Finance Team.

Job Description

This long-term career opportunity involves supervising, mentoring, and developing the Finance Team, which consists of a Finance Manager, 3 Accounting Technicians, and a Payroll Administrator. The successful candidate will oversee all financial activities, including planning, reporting, auditing, budgeting, and forecasting. They will also provide strategic-level financial services and advice to KCFN stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Supervise and mentor the Finance Team members to ensure effective financial operations
  2. Develop and implement financial plans, budgets, and forecasts to support the organization's goals
  3. Provide strategic financial advice and guidance to leadership at all levels
  4. Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and reports
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Executive-level experience in finance and accounting
  • Indigenous accounting experience is preferred
  • A proven track record of leading and developing high-performing teams
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Benefits
