Medical Oncology Physician

BC Cancer – Surrey seeks a Medical Oncology Physician to provide clinical and academic services.

The successful candidate will be part of a collaborative care team committed to excellence, to participate in clinical, research, administrative and educational activities.

The centre has collaborative and innovative nursing, physics, dosimetry and therapy staff. BC Cancer-Surrey has a full range of medical oncology, diagnostic and support services.

The successful candidate will work actively to encourage a culture of teamwork, collaboration, and respect within the entire healthcare team.

Applicants must be eligible for licensure in British Columbia in the Associate Physician Class and will be assigned a supervisor.

Remuneration will be based on experience and in accordance with the PHSA compensation framework for Associate Physicians.

The Surrey Centre participates actively in several clinical trials groups.

Applicants will have a medical degree, and a minimum of 2 years' training in a postgraduate medical training program, ideally with internal medicine/oncology experience.

The successful candidate will have a commitment to upholding the shared responsibility of creating lasting and meaningful reconciliation in Canada as per TRC (2015) and BC's Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (2019).

Applicants must have knowledge of social, economic, political and historical realities impacting indigenous communities and familiarity with Indigenous Cultural Safety and anti-racism and accompanying reports (BC DRIPA, TRC, etc.).

As per the current Public Health Order, full vaccination against COVID-19 is a condition of employment with PHSA as of October 26, 2021.
