Medical Oncology Specialist

BC Cancer – Surrey is seeking a Medical Oncology Specialist to work part-time within the Radiation Oncology Department. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with Radiation Oncologists and other medical specialists, nurses, radiation therapists, and clerical staff in an interdisciplinary environment.

The role involves mainly ambulatory care of patients on therapy and in follow-up. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic and innovative environment, providing comprehensive cancer care to patients.

The Surrey Centre, located in Surrey, BC, offers a full range of services in Medical Oncology, Radiation Oncology, Palliative care, and support services such as Nutrition, Clinical Trials, and Patient and Family Counseling.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with a multidisciplinary team, providing comprehensive cancer care to patients. The role requires a commitment to upholding the shared responsibility of creating lasting and meaningful reconciliation in Canada.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide ambulatory care to patients on therapy and in follow-up
  • Work collaboratively with Radiation Oncologists and other medical specialists
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings
  • Develop and implement treatment plans
  • Provide education and support to patients and families

Requirements:

  • License to practice as a Medical Oncology Specialist in British Columbia
  • Experience in Radiation Oncology is an asset but not required
  • Commitment to upholding the shared responsibility of creating lasting and meaningful reconciliation in Canada
