Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced professional to join our team as the Associate General Counsel. Reporting to the General Counsel, the successful candidate will be based out of our Vaughan office. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a dynamic and entrepreneurial environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Negotiating, reviewing, and drafting agreements of purchase and sale, commercial leases, real estate joint venture, and limited partnership agreements.
  • Advising on real estate acquisitions, sales, financings, commercial tenancies, employment issues, corporate governance issues, construction matters, and planning and development legal matters.
  • Working with and managing external counsel.
  • Involvement in exceptional projects through our RGF Real Estate Fund, partnering with some of the GTA's leading developers.

Requirements:

  • Law degree (LLB or JD) from an accredited university.
  • 5-10 years of relevant experience in Real Estate and Corporate Law.
  • Experience in the real estate and construction industries considered an asset.
  • In-House Counsel experience considered an asset.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to work with cross-functional teams.
  • Thrives in a team-driven, cooperative environment.
  • Ability to work well under pressure, with minimal oversight.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
