Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our team at the University Health Network. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a vital role in maintaining high standards of client relations and assisting pharmacists in accurately and efficiently performing technical aspects related to prescription dispensing responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with pharmacists to ensure exceptional client service and maintain a positive reputation for the University Health Network.
  • Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications, including extemporaneous products, under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
  • Perform various tasks related to the maintenance and operation of our outpatient pharmacy services, including inventory management and blister packaging automation.
  • Develop strong relationships with patients, families, and healthcare teams to provide comprehensive care and support.
  • Stay up-to-date with changing technologies and machinery, including automated blister packaging machines, to ensure efficient and effective operations.
Requirements
  • Completion of an accredited college-level Pharmacy Technician program and certification with the Ontario College of Pharmacists (CPhT) or completion of the Pharmacy Examination Board of Canada (PEBC) Evaluating Exam.
  • Active licensure with the Ontario College of Pharmacists (OCP) as a Registered Pharmacy Technician (RPhT) and eligibility to register with OCP as RPhT.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong interpersonal and customer service skills, and ability to work under minimal supervision.
  • Ability to learn and troubleshoot changing technologies/machinery, excellent organizational and time management skills, and ability to work variable shifts.
