About the RoleThis is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced and challenging environment, supporting the Pharmacy Services Outpatient Pharmacy Operations team. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a vital role in maintaining high standards of client relations, assisting pharmacists with prescription dispensing responsibilities, and preparing extemporaneous products under the supervision of a pharmacist.
Key Responsibilities- Work collaboratively with pharmacists to maintain high standards of client relations
- Assist pharmacists with accurately and efficiently performing technical aspects of prescription dispensing responsibilities
- Prepare or compound extemporaneous products using appropriate techniques under the supervision of a pharmacist
- Perform activities related to the maintenance and operation of Outpatient Pharmacy services
- Handle inventory and supplies, manage operations of blister packaging automation, and perform other duties consistent with the job classification
- Completion of an accredited college-level Pharmacy Technician Program
- Active licensure with the Ontario College of Pharmacists (OCP) as Registered Pharmacy Technician (RPhT)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
- Ability to work under minimal supervision and manage competing priorities/deadlines
- Ability to learn and troubleshoot changing technologies/machinery
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work variable shifts
