Pharmacy Technician Role at North York General Hospital

About the Position:

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our team at North York General Hospital. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting the operations of our Outpatient Pharmacy department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service to patients, healthcare professionals, and other stakeholders.
  • Prescription Processing: Accurately process prescriptions, including data entry and labeling.
  • Inventory Management: Manage inventory and stock rotation to ensure efficient operations.
  • Compounding: Prepare and compound medications as required.
  • Cash Handling: Handle cash transactions and maintain accurate records.
  • Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with the Staff Pharmacist and other team members to achieve departmental goals.

Requirements:

  • Regulated Pharmacy Technician: Be a regulated Pharmacy Technician in good standing with the Ontario College of Pharmacists.
  • Experience: Have experience working in an outpatient pharmacy setting.
  • Technical Skills: Be proficient in the Kroll pharmacy computer system and possess strong computer skills.
  • Communication Skills: Possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge: Have knowledge of Ontario drug benefit and third-party drug plan billing procedures.
  • Typing Skills: Possess accurate and efficient typing skills with attention to detail.
  • Work Habits: Demonstrate well-organized work habits and the ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Adaptability: Be adaptable and able to work in a team environment.
  • Cash Handling: Possess customer-oriented focus and cash handling skills.
