Job Summary:

The Pharmacy Technician Specialist will play a vital role in the recovery process for chronic, critically ill, and medically complex patients at Kindred Hospital Ontario. This position requires a high level of expertise in pharmacy operations and a strong understanding of the role of pharmacy technicians in a hospital setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Dispense additives for IV and irrigating solutions under the direct supervision of the Director of Pharmacy or Registered Pharmacist.
  • Mix IV additive solutions as required using aseptic technique with the laminar air flow hood.
  • Type, label, prepare, and file charge slips.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Director of Pharmacy.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • State Certification/Licensure as required by state.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Certified Pharmacy Technician in a hospital pharmacy setting.
  • Basic understanding of the role of and use of a computer in the processing of prescription orders with minimum word processing skills.
  • Proven experience with maintaining positive relationships with coworkers and customers.
