The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced SCADA Team Lead to join our dynamic team at WSP USA. As a key member of our renewable energy team, you will play a critical role in managing a fast-growing team of SCADA engineers, leading cutting-edge solar, wind, or BESS projects, and innovating with the latest technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of SCADA engineers, acting as the first point of contact for all SCADA opportunities for utility-scale renewable projects, manage the workload and assignment of the SCADA team.
  • Foster a collaborative culture through mentorship and guidance, perform annual performance reviews, and define yearly objectives.
  • Manage relationships with internal and external clients, ensuring their needs are understood and met, providing guidance and expertise.
  • Contribute to the technical implementation of projects using your technical expertise.
  • Support the development of the team by providing training and mentoring.
  • Ensure project quality control by reviewing peer work and following state-of-the-art design processes.
  • Participate in decisions regarding team development and vision, leveraging your knowledge of the SCADA market.
  • Support business development and provide support for service proposals and opportunity evaluations.

Requirements:

  • Registered professional engineer in Alberta and potentially other provinces.
  • 6+ years of professional SCADA experience in operations, engineering, or project management.
  • Experience in SCADA integration, relevant SCADA communication protocols, computer interfaces, networks, and cyber security.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to lead technical discussions among SCADA vendors and other team members.
  • Access to a vehicle, a clean Driver's Abstract, and proficiency in the MS Office suite of products.
  • Desire to experience working for a leading global engineering consulting firm and be part of a growing and thriving team.
