Role and Responsibilities

The Project Manager will work closely with the Corridor Lead to ensure the success of the coordinated team. This position is part of the Metrolinx Program Team, which includes MCS and Metrolinx teams for GO Expansion.

The PM will take ownership of projects and scope under their control, utilizing their experience to drive a culture of best practice for health, safety, wellbeing, and quality across the programme. They will engage with project delivery teams to understand challenges and develop resolutions that benefit the programme.

  • Supports the Corridor Lead in leading a major multi-disciplinary team.
  • Safety leader across all project delivery works.
  • Proactive approach to engaging with project delivery teams.
  • Monitors key performance indicators and engages with teams to meet monthly measurement criteria.
  • Manages resources, interfaces, and constraints.
  • Manages activities with significant uncertainty of solution or outcome.
  • Maintains up-to-date metrics on performance across the programme.
  • Recommends and initiates changes to project delivery plans.
  • Interacts with clients and stakeholders to ensure objectives are met.
  • Manages external relationships important for project delivery.
  • Builds and maintains networks with peer project teams and other disciplines.
  • Supports the development and delivery of implementation plans.
Qualifications

Education: Degree or equivalent with professional work experience in project and construction delivery management.

Years of experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in a similar field.

Technical competencies:

  • Solid understanding of construction methodology, innovative methods of delivery, technology, planning, delivery, site logistics, commercial & legal / contract issues.
  • Solid knowledge of contract & commercial procedures.
  • Solid project management expertise.
  • Stays up to date with key industry/professional trends through networking and Continued Professional Development (CPD).
  • Knowledge of BIM and able to give advice to clients and articulate BIM strategy.

Personal & soft skills:

  • Understands data management.
  • Proficient in office technology, software, and applications.
  • Well-developed decision-making skills.
  • Takes ownership to identify, solve, and overcome challenges.
  • Delivers results, striving to exceed clients' expectations.
