Special Events Coordinator

Role Overview
The Coordinator, Special Events will be responsible for the logistical coordination of events. This role will support the Special Events Officer in achieving revenue and participation goals. The Coordinator will manage and lead the logistics for our annual golf tournaments and other events.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Post-secondary education in a relevant program or equivalent experience
- 2 years work experience in fundraising, sales, event coordination, marketing and/or not-for-profit
- Demonstrated experience working on special events and working with volunteers
- Experience with email marketing, social media and with tools such as Canva
- Strong communication skills
- Experience with digital technology
- Achievement-oriented; a goal-setter
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Flexible and responsive
- Collaborative relationship-builder
- Computer proficiency including experience with social media
Responsibilities:
- Lead the two (2) annual Golf Events, Stick it to Diabetes Program and other potential events as we grow our portfolio
- Work with all vendors, sponsors, volunteers and event participants
- Provides administrative support to the portfolio
- Working with Coordinators across DC to ensure business practices are followed
- Assist with management and organization of fundraising events
