Job Summary:

The Toronto District School Board is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Manager, Speech-Language Pathology Services to lead the delivery of speech-language pathology services in our schools. This is a permanent position in the Special Education and Inclusion department, reporting to the Executive Superintendent, Special Education Programs and Equitable Outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Hire, supervise, and monitor the performance of speech-language pathology services staff.
  • Maintain updated records and provide regular reports to the Executive Superintendent on assessments and service delivery.
  • Allocate staff to Learning Centres and special programs.
  • Monitor and authorize budget expenditures within established parameters.
  • Consult with staff regarding case issues and work collaboratively with special education services.
  • Implement staff meetings and professional development initiatives to promote an understanding of the service delivery model for speech-language pathology services.
  • Consult with schools, school officials, and parents/guardians/caregivers regarding delivery of speech-language pathology services.
  • Manage all aspects of speech-language pathology files as required by RHPA and the College of Audiologists and Speech Language Pathologists of Ontario.
  • Liaise with the Executive Superintendent to maintain an ongoing understanding of student, school, and community needs for psychological services.
  • Liaise with outside agencies regarding provision of service.
Qualifications:
  • Post-graduate degree in speech-language pathology and registration as a speech-language pathologist in the province of Ontario.
  • Four to seven years of experience in a supervisory position in a special education environment or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Successful experience as a speech-language pathologist within a school setting.
  • Administrative and supervisory experience within a school board speech-language pathology department.
  • Good analytical and communication skills and ability to synthesize complex information.
  • Ability to conceptualize situations in order to resolve problems.
  • Proven ability to assist diverse communities in understanding the purposes and possible outcomes of involvement by speech-language pathology services.
Special Requirements:

Provision of own vehicle for Board business. Position requires travel across the TDSB.

Work Year: 12 Months

Location: 140 Borough Drive (Hybrid Work Eligible)
