Customer Site Manager Job Description

About GATX: Founded in 1898, GATX is a leading railcar lessor and services company. Our headquarters is located in Chicago, Illinois.

We are seeking a highly skilled Customer Site Manager to oversee the performance of our customer site. This role involves developing and implementing strategic plans, programs, and processes to ensure achievement of safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives.

The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a proven track record in management. A bachelor's degree in business administration, operations management, or a related field is preferred. Minimum three years of management experience in an industrial environment is required.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement plans to meet or exceed budgeted performance expectations.
  • Drive continuous improvement efforts using SQDC methodology.
  • Lead Goal Deployment, setting targets and accountabilities for safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, operations management, or a related field.
  • Minimum three years of management experience in an industrial environment.
  • Direct supervisory experience.
  • Background in railcar inspection and repair preferred.
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and managing profit and loss statements.
  • AAR Basic Auditor Certification or the ability to obtain it within one year.
  • Advanced computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office Suite and other listed systems.
Salary and Benefits:

The estimated salary for this position is $120,000-$150,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience. We offer a competitive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.

  • Valid driver's license.
  • Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) or the ability to obtain it.
  • Ability to pass a DOT physical.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.
