The estimated salary for this position ranges from $120,000 to $180,000 annually, depending on experience.

Job Description

As a Site Director for Construction Operations, you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the daily activities at a construction or industrial site. This includes managing a team of workers, ensuring that safety protocols are followed, monitoring progress, and communication with the project manager and other stakeholders.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing sub-contractors by coordinating, supervising, and evaluating the quality of work.
  • Meeting operational standards by contributing construction information to PMs and reviewing productivity, quality, and customer-service standards.
  • Identifying misses or issues and coming up with creative cost-effective solutions.
  • Meeting construction budget by monitoring project expenses and costs based on budgets provided.
  • Accomplishing construction project results by defining project purpose and scope; scheduling and coordinating staff and sub-contractors; preventing fines and interruptions by complying with and enforcing codes and policies.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A bachelor's degree in an area of specialty.
  • Eight to 10 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
  • Experience in establishing and monitoring construction and financial controls to achieve on-time and on-budget project completion.
  • An understanding of the relevant legislation, by-laws, and codes affecting commercial and industrial development and construction.
  • Strong knowledge of the Ontario Building Code, Occupational Health and Safety Act, Construction Lien Act for the construction industry.
  • Proficiency in preparing, reading, interpreting construction designs and documents, preparing and assembling design estimates, and working budgets, cash flows, and pricing.
