Job Title: Mental Health & Addiction Support Worker

The primary function of this role is to ensure the smooth operation of our treatment programs when counseling staff are not available. This includes monitoring patient activities, ensuring security, and making prescribed medications available as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor patient activities and ensure adherence to operational procedures
  • Ensure facility security after daily activities
  • Make prescribed medications available to patients
  • Provide support to patients experiencing difficulties
  • Notify on-call staff in case of emergencies
  • Document significant occurrences and activities
  • Participate in case consultation and treatment coordination
  • Administer first aid if trained
  • Perform housekeeping and clerical tasks
  • Answer telephone and handle calls as instructed
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Grade 12 or equivalent diploma
  • Education and training in Addictions and Mental Health
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to read, write, and understand instructions
  • Valid First Aid/CPR Level C certification
  • Clear Criminal Records Check for vulnerable adults
