Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our interdisciplinary team at EHN Canada's Willowview Recovery Centre in Regina, Saskatchewan.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced LPN to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals struggling with addiction. As part of our team, you will work collaboratively with healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive assessment, treatment management, and guidance to clients. You will be required to work all shifts, including days, nights, and weekends.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver client care according to the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Saskatchewan
  • Provide ongoing client care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
  • Formulate and implement client care plans
  • Safely implement physician's orders
  • Administer medications to clients
  • Maintain current progress records on clients according to legal and ethical standards
  • Orientate, facilitate, and reinforce clients' involvement in addiction treatment
  • Determine and initiate action in case of medical emergencies
  • Provide supportive counseling to clients, families, and/or significant others on typical recovery issues
  • Maintain a therapeutic environment on the unit conducive to client learning productive patterns of living
  • Provide ongoing health teaching to clients in relation to common health problems and maintaining a healthy lifestyle
  • Coordinate individual client appointments and referrals
  • Actively participate with team members in the assessment, planning, and evaluation of the client and their care
  • Assist the public with crisis intervention and information on addiction
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited school of Licensed Practical Nurses with pharmacological training
  • Licensed Practical Nurse registered in the Province of Saskatchewan
  • Current basic CPR
  • Recent clinical experience, including medication administration and leadership duties
  • Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular and consistent basis
  • Leadership/Charge experience preferred
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Good problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Demonstrated use of proper body mechanics and ability to perform heavy lifting
  • Knowledge of/experience with a team-based person-centered care approach
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a member of the interdisciplinary team
What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary of $73,000 - $90,000 per year, depending on experience, plus comprehensive benefits package, including a yearly allowance of $1,500 for mental health and addiction services, as well as $500 per service for various paramedical services.
