Job Summary

This role involves working as an LPN at EHN Willowview Recovery Centre, a new 60-bed inpatient addictions treatment facility located near Regina. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality client care, including assessments, treatment management, and medication administration. You will work closely with an interdisciplinary team to provide holistic care to adults 18 and older struggling with mental health and addiction issues.

Responsibilities and Duties

- Delivering exceptional client care according to College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Saskatchewan standards
- Providing ongoing client care using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
- Developing and implementing comprehensive client care plans
- Safely administering medications and implementing physician's orders
- Maintaining accurate progress records in accordance with legal and ethical standards
- Orientating clients on addiction treatment and facilitating their involvement in the recovery process
- Deciding and initiating action in medical emergencies
- Providing supportive counseling to clients, families, and significant others on typical recovery issues
- Creating a therapeutic environment conducive to learning productive patterns of living
- Educating clients on common health problems and maintaining healthy lifestyles
- Coordinating individual client appointments and referrals
- Participating in client assessment, planning, and evaluation with the interdisciplinary team
- Assisting with crisis intervention and information dissemination on addiction
- Performing duties outlined on shift duty lists and assigned by the Nursing Supervisor

Qualifications and Requirements

- Graduate of an accredited school of Licensed Practical Nurses with pharmacological training
- Registered Licensed Practical Nurse in the Province of Saskatchewan
- Current basic CPR certification
- Recent clinical experience, including medication administration and leadership duties
- Demonstrated ability to attend work regularly and consistently
- Leadership/Charge experience preferred
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Good problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Ability to use proper body mechanics and perform heavy lifting
- Knowledge of or experience with team-based person-centered care approaches
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a member of the interdisciplinary team
