We are seeking a highly skilled Civil/Architectural/Mechanical Technician to join our team at Canadian Nuclear Laboratories (CNL). As a key member of our design drafting team, you will be responsible for preparing accurate building drawings and performing engineering change control close outs.
Key Responsibilities- Design Drafting: Prepare accurate as-built drawings, revise existing CADD and hand drawings, and prepare hand-drawn sketches based on field conditions.
- Engineering Change Control: Perform engineering change control close outs, void and destruction of obsolete drawings, and manage multiple tasks and assignments.
- Field Work: Conduct field walk-downs to record the as-built status of construction projects in the civil, architectural, structural, and mechanical disciplines.
- Documentation: Prepare various documents to support work plans, including figures, maps, diagrams, and illustrations.
- Teamwork: Work effectively within a team environment, displaying a positive attitude, strong communication skills, and a willingness to learn and adapt.
- Education: Secondary School Graduation Diploma or equivalent, and normally more than three years of pertinent progressive experience, or equivalent in experience, additional education, and/or training.
- Experience: Must have experience in preparing accurate design drawings and strong blueprint reading skills, as well as proficiency in AutoCAD.
- Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Knowledge of general construction methods, mechanical and electrical systems, CNL Design Office Manual (DOM), and CNL Engineering Change Control (ECC) Process is an asset. Must be capable of performing field walk-downs, revising existing drawings, and preparing hand-drawn sketches.
- Security Clearance: Reliability Status with Site Access Security Clearance (SASC) is required, with a minimum of 3 years of verifiable history in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the United States, and/or the United Kingdom.
