Quality Assurance Manager

About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Lead to join our team for the Near Surface Disposal (NSDF) Project in Chalk River. As a Quality Lead, you will be responsible for leading quality assurance efforts, reviewing documentation, coordinating testing and inspections, and conducting internal and supplier audits.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and ensure compliance with specifications, quality programs, and relevant standards.
- Coordinate and lead factory and site testing requirements, inspections, and surveillances, and document findings.
- Lead internal and supplier audits to assess compliance with quality standards.
- Develop, implement, and maintain Quality Management System (QMS) documents to meet customer requirements.
- Train project personnel on the QMS, ensuring everyone understands quality processes and requirements.
- Investigate quality issues, monitor trends, and document findings.
- Analyze data related to quality performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Implement testing procedures to assess product quality and report on inspection results.
- Work closely with project functional lines to provide quality planning, feedback, and support.
- Inspect construction projects before, during, and after completion.
- Oversee work performed by internal project staff and suppliers.
- Ensure adherence to quality specifications.
- Liaise and work collaboratively with all project stakeholders.
- Mentor and guide junior quality personnel, sharing expertise and helping them develop their skills.
Requirements:
- Degree or Diploma in Civil or Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- More than 8-10 years of relevant experience in quality program management.
- Knowledge of CSA N299.2 and ISO 9001 standards.
- Knowledge of ASME Section VIIII, CSA B31, B51, N285 would be an asset.
- Effective communication and leadership skills are crucial.
- Experience working in construction, engineering, or related fields, with familiarity with construction processes, materials, and safety standards.
- Previous experience in construction and heavy civil projects preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Applications.
- Certification related to quality management, such as Certified Quality Manager (CQM) or Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) or successful completion of NIAC, CANIAC training/evaluations would be an asset.
- Experience conducting Root Cause Analysis investigations would be an asset.
- Must be eligible for CNL Reliability Status security clearance.
