Civil Engineering Technologist

Workforce Development is seeking a highly skilled Water Infrastructure Expert - Engineering Technologist to join our team.
Job Summary:We are looking for a knowledgeable and experienced Engineering Technologist to assist with the technical assessments of the sanitary and stormwater system, evaluate capacity constraints, and recommend improvements. The successful candidate will provide technical input and comments on designs and drawings for various civil engineering projects and provide information for various studies related to flooding, drainage, hydrology, and hydraulics.
The ideal candidate will have a 3-year diploma in Civil Engineering Technology or equivalent, be a member in good standing with the Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists (OACETT) or Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO), and have minimum of 4 years progressive experience in the field of infrastructure and water/wastewater design.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform and analyze hydraulic modelling analysis of wastewater and drainage infrastructure for system capacity assessments using computer modelling software.
- Provide technical input and comments on designs and drawings for a variety of civil engineering projects, including sanitary and storm sewers, water main, pumping stations, stormwater management facilities, and drainage works.
- Provide technical information and support for the Municipality's Flood Mitigation and Protection Framework.
- Support the Municipality's Flood Rapid Response Plan and assist in flood forecasting and monitoring as required.
The successful candidate will have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, be able to demonstrate advances analytical skills, problem solving skills, tact, diplomacy, confidentiality, and effective time management skills.
