Job Summary:

The University of Ottawa is seeking a Research Assistant to contribute to an in-depth literature review on the socio-economic characteristics of indigenous populations in Central Africa, and of targeted communities in the Democratic Republic of Congo in particular.

Responsibilities:

Conduct independent research on the socio-economic situation of indigenous peoples in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Contribute to a research project on the collective rights of Indigenous Peoples in Central Africa to their natural resources, and on the protection of their traditional knowledge associated with genetic resources.

Collaborate with the research team to achieve project goals.

Requirements:

Undergraduate students.

Ability to conduct independent research.

Excellent writing skills in English and/or French.

Knowledge of the socio-economic situation of indigenous peoples in the Democratic Republic of Congo will be considered an asset.

Language of Work:

English and/or French.

Language Requirements:

Spoken: Passive.

Reading: Active.

Writing: Active.

Additional Information:

All University of Ottawa employees are required to successfully complete all mandatory legislated training offered by the University.
