Job Summary

The Peel District School Board is seeking a skilled Customer Support Specialist to provide help-desk support for all PDSB equipment and applications. This role requires excellent technical skills and the ability to communicate effectively with employees and the PDSB community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide remote, first-level telephone support for employees and the PDSB community.
  • Test and debug software applications.
  • Author documentation and conduct training sessions and workshops.
  • Support all hardware, websites, corporate applications, cloud services, networks, telephony, and communication equipment.
  • Install application software and operating system software.
  • Train and onboard staff with custom PDSB applications.
  • Provide technical assistance to school staff in the set-up and use of software, hardware, and peripherals.
  • Collaborate with the IT teams to create and maintain documentation for both end users and field support staff.
  • Operate system software, direct equipment for repair, and monitor the repair process.
  • Test, debug, and evaluate operating systems, applications software, and user interfaces.
Qualifications
  • Post-secondary education in an applicable discipline or equivalent work experience.
  • A minimum of two years' experience in technical support and/or help-desk environments.
  • Expertise in supporting several areas, including Windows Active Directory Environments, RDP, IT Call Tracking, Virtual Learning Environments, Chromebooks, iOS, MacOS, and TCPIP, Ethernet, and WiFi Networks.
  • Experience with supporting multiple Microsoft 365 products, including Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, and other corporate business applications.
  • Experience in presenting, designing, and implementing effective training programs.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to deal effectively with Board personnel and technical staff.
  • Demonstrated commitment to working in a diverse school community and/or work environment.
  • A record of satisfactory on-the-job performance while employed by the Peel District School Board.
