Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure the timely processing of equipment and supplies to support internal departments.
  • Develop and maintain inter-department linkages to facilitate effective communication and collaboration.
  • Supervise and develop human resources to ensure a motivated and cohesive team.
  • Perform administrative responsibilities, including quality assurance and program development.
  • Contribute to safe, quality care by ensuring patients receive the best possible care through delivery of processed products in accordance with regulations and standards.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure continuity of exemplary patient care.
  • Facilitate supports and ensure ongoing structures to promote standardized processing practices and educational strategies.
  • Function as a resource for staff, providing continuous education and training to ensure compliance with statutory requirements and established procedures.
  • Allocate staff resources efficiently to ensure adequate shift coverage.
  • Monitor quality standards and perform quality checks, taking corrective action as required.
Requirements
  • Sterile Supply Processing Certificate from a recognized community college or university.
  • Five (5) years of recent working experience in a MDR department.
  • Two (2) years Medical Device Reprocessing Supervisory experience, preferred.
  • Good working knowledge of instrument tracking systems and operating room instrumentation.

  • Demonstrated understanding of current legislation, regulations, and procedures for sterilizing hospital equipment and related infection control issues.
  • Well-developed team-building, conflict management, and consensus-building skills.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively and motivate others.
  • Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills with a strong customer focus.
  • Self-motivated with demonstrated critical thinking and strong analytical skills.
  • Strong Computer skills in a Windows environment utilizing Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook at an advanced level.
  • Demonstrates Mackenzie Health's Core Competencies, including great customer service, effective communication, lifelong learning, taking initiative, and being a team player.
  • Proven attendance record.
  • Demonstrates understanding and complies with patient and staff safety policies and procedures that foster a safe and inclusive environment for all.
