Overview

The Account Executive is a field-based, direct sales role responsible for driving growth and expansion within existing client relationships. This role requires a consultative approach, working closely with C-level executives to develop and implement effective strategies that maximize the value delivered by Gartner's products and services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Account Management: Develop and execute account plans to drive growth, retention, and expansion of existing client relationships.
  • Quota Responsibility: Meet or exceed sales targets of $800,000+ of contract value within a territory of major client accounts.
  • Sales Methodology: Master and consistently execute Gartner's sales methodology to drive results.
  • Account Planning and Territory Management: Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of client organizations, industries, and markets to drive strategic sales initiatives.
  • Forecast Accuracy: Maintain accurate forecasting and pipeline management to ensure timely and effective sales execution.
  • Competitive Knowledge and Focus: Stay up-to-date on industry trends, competitor activity, and market developments to drive sales success.
  • Product and Service Knowledge: Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of Gartner's products and services to effectively communicate value to clients.
Requirements
  • Experience: 6-10 years of experience in consultative sales, preferably in high technology (services, software, or consultative environment), with a proven track record of success in sales.
  • Skills: Strong intellect, drive, executive presence, and sales acumen, with excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Education: Bachelor's or master's degree – desired.
