CancerCare Manitoba is a leading healthcare organization dedicated to providing exceptional cancer care services. We are seeking a highly skilled Oncology Nurse II to join our team.

About the Role:

The Oncology Nurse II will be responsible for providing holistic cancer care to patients in the ambulatory setting. This includes assessment, intervention, treatment administration, coordination of care, and follow-up. The successful candidate will participate in patient/family education, make pertinent nursing assessments, collaborate with the multidisciplinary care team, and provide appropriate interventions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality patient care in the ambulatory setting
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary care team to develop and implement patient care plans
  • Participate in patient/family education and provide support
  • Make pertinent nursing assessments and provide appropriate interventions
  • Coordinate care and follow-up with patients

Requirements:

  • Current registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (CRNM)
  • Current certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
  • Knowledge of the Canadian Nurses Association Code of Ethics for Registered Nurses and the Regulated Health Professions Act (RHPA)
  • Proficient with computers, software programs, and applications such as MS Windows/Word/Outlook
  • Satisfactory employment record
  • Ability to legally work in Canada

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Nursing
  • Three (3) years' experience in medical/surgical or ambulatory care
  • Knowledge and experience with oncology
  • Experience with electronic charting
  • Ability to speak French

Asset Qualifications:

  • Certified Oncology Nurse (CON(C))
  • Knowledge and experience with wound care
  • Knowledge and experience with patients receiving radiation therapy
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development
  • Leadership
