About the Role

CancerCare Manitoba is a leading agency in cancer control and treatment of blood disorders. We are seeking an experienced Oncology Nurse II Float to join our team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide holistic cancer care to patients across the oncology experience, including assessment, intervention, treatment administration, and follow-up in the ambulatory setting.
  • Participate in patient/family education, make pertinent nursing assessments, collaborate with the multidisciplinary care team, and provide appropriate interventions.
  • Work a variable schedule and cross all sites, including MacCharles, St. Boniface Hospital, Victoria General Hospital, and Grace General Hospital.
Requirements
  • Current registration with College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (CRNM)
  • Current certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS)
  • Strong understanding of patient-centred care
  • Proficient with MS Word, Outlook, and internet use
  • Satisfactory employment record
  • Ability to legally work in Canada
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Nursing
  • Three (3) years' experience within settings such as medical/surgical or ambulatory care
  • Previous experience in chemotherapy administration and IV insertion
  • Knowledge and experience with oncology
  • Experience with electronic charting
  • Ability to speak French
  • Certified Oncology Nurse [CON(C)]
  • Knowledge and experience with wound care
  • Knowledge and experience with patients receiving radiation therapy
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development
  • Leadership and self-development
