Job SummaryThe Oncology Nurse II Float will provide holistic cancer care to patients in the ambulatory setting, assessing, intervening, and coordinating care. This role requires collaboration with the multidisciplinary care team, patient/family education, and making pertinent nursing assessments. The successful candidate will work with cytotoxic and hazardous medications, requiring personal protective equipment and training.
Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive cancer care to patients in the ambulatory setting
- Assess and intervene in patient care, making pertinent nursing assessments
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary care team to coordinate patient care
- Provide patient/family education and support
- Work with cytotoxic and hazardous medications, adhering to safety protocols
- Current registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (CRNM)
- Current certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
- Knowledge of the Canadian Nurses Association Code of Ethics for Registered Nurses and the Regulated Health Professions Act (RHPA)
- Proficient in computer software and applications, including MS Windows/Word/Outlook
- Satisfactory employment record and ability to legally work in Canada
- Bachelor of Nursing degree
- Three (3) years' experience in medical/surgical or ambulatory care settings
- Knowledge and experience in oncology
- Experience with electronic charting
- Ability to speak French
- Certified Oncology Nurse (CON(C)) designation
- Knowledge and experience in wound care
- Knowledge and experience in patients receiving radiation therapy
- Commitment to ongoing professional development
- Leadership skills
