Forensic Social Work Assistant

BC Mental Health & Substance Use Services is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Forensic Social Work Assistant to join our team in Port Coquitlam, BC.
Job Summary:We are looking for a detail-oriented and organized individual to provide clerical support to our social work department. The successful candidate will be responsible for gathering charts, requesting and receiving information from social work programs, interdisciplinary teams, and the community. They will also schedule and book clinical appointments, prepare and maintain records, and perform other administrative duties as required.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide clerical support to social work department regarding patient care related processes.
- Liaise with staff of social work and other interdisciplinary teams to provide program-related information.
- Schedule and book clinical appointments for the teams.
- Prepare and maintain a variety of records, reports, and charts according to established procedures.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Completion of a recognized Social Service Worker or Social Service Diploma Program or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- General knowledge on social work, mental health, and substance services.
- Demonstrated ability to relate well with others and with a multidisciplinary team.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Demonstrated ability to organize and to prioritize workload.
- Ability to operate related equipment including basic knowledge of computer software Windows, MS Word.
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
