The RoleWe are seeking a highly skilled and patient-focused Medical Receptionist to join our team at KMH Cardiology Centres Inc. in Burlington. As a key member of our reception team, you will be responsible for providing a positive service experience to patients, ensuring seamless clinic operations, and maintaining accurate patient records.
Key Accountabilities:- Be the first point of contact for patients during their in-clinic experience, providing a warm and welcoming greeting.
- Meet and achieve KPI and performance goals, utilizing technology to facilitate KPI attainment.
- Optimize clinic capacity, ensuring efficient patient flow and minimizing wait times.
- Manage patient check-ins, departures, enquiries, and phone calls, responding to patient inquiries in a courteous and empathetic manner.
- Accurately register patients by obtaining complete demographics, insurance information, and consent.
- Schedule and confirm patient appointments and follow-ups, facilitating in-clinic patient flow by communicating patients' arrival.
- Maintain attention to detail for all medical records, scanning documents into patient charts, and ensuring all required forms and documentation are completed per check-in protocols.
- Follow best practices in confidentiality and privacy of medical information.
- Maintain a clean and organized reception area, collaborating with internal teams to provide and gather information, enabling patient requirements to be dealt with efficiently.
- 1 year of medical office experience.
- Cardiology practice and clinic experience is an asset.
- Education/diploma in medical office administration.
- Demonstrated high-quality, compassionate, customer-centered experience.
- Proven ability to work proficiently and independently in a busy, fast-paced environment.
- Ability to establish priorities and achieve objectives with minimal supervision.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Superior telephone etiquette.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology.
- Proficiency in technology, including MS Office and EMR systems.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to deal with sensitive information with a high degree of privacy and diplomacy.
- Team orientation.
