The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and patient-focused Medical Receptionist to join our team at our busy clinic in Burlington.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, clinic experience, and a strong understanding of medical terminology.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide a positive service experience to patients at our labs
  • Meet and achieve KPI and performance goals, utilizing Tableau daily to facilitate KPI attainment
  • Optimize clinic capacity and ensure tasks are completed in a timely manner
  • Manage patient check-ins, departures, enquiries, and phone calls
  • Accurately register patients by obtaining complete demographics, insurance information, and consent
  • Schedule and confirm patient appointments and follow-ups
  • Respond to patient inquiries in a courteous and empathetic manner
  • Maintain attention to detail for all medical records and ensure all required forms and documentation are completed
  • Follow best practices in confidentiality and privacy of medical information
  • Maintain a clean and organized reception area
  • Collaborate with internal teams to provide and gather information, enabling patient requirements to be dealt with efficiently
Requirements
  • 1 year medical office experience
  • Cardiology practice and clinic experience is an asset
  • Education/diploma in medical office administration
  • Demonstrated high-quality, compassionate, customer-centered experience
  • Proven ability to work proficiently and independently in a busy, fast-paced environment
  • Ability to establish priorities and achieve objectives with minimal supervision
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Superior telephone etiquette
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology
  • Proficiency in technology, including MS Office and EMR systems
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to deal with sensitive information with a high degree of privacy and diplomacy
